Tadım, Turkey's leading packaged nuts brand, was founded by Mehmet Tekinalp in 1971 in Istanbul
Tadım, the market leader in packaged nuts and dried fruits in Turkey, was founded in 1971 by Mehmet Tekinalp.
The Tekinalp family from the city of Gaziantep have been trading in pistachios since the 1940’s and today, in their third generation, continue to contribute greatly to the popularity of pistachios. Mehmet Tekinalp’s father was the first to bring and sell pistachios to Istanbul. The families were also the first to export pistachios to the United States in the 1950’s.
Mehmet Tekinalp decided to sell other varieties of nuts and dried fruit in packages alongside pistachios. He then founded Tadım in 1971 and entered the packaged nuts industry.
Tadım’s vision also became very clear at that time: “to pack nuts and offer customers fresh products of the highest quality at very fair prices.”
The foundations that Mehmet Tekinalp Tadım relied on were primarily ensuring the necessary hygiene conditions and extending the shelf life of dried nut products, which generally lose their freshness quickly.
The name “Tadım” was chosen as the brand name to convey palatability. The brand logo was designed by the famous graphic artist Mengü Ertel in order to reach consumers as effectively as possible.
With 49 years of pioneering and market leadership, Tadım purchases the highest quality raw materials, processes and packages them untouched in the production facilities so that the product can be delivered fresh to the consumer. Tadım maintains production facilities for nuts, dried fruits and muesli bars in Gebze and Germany for this purpose.
